Len is a multi-faced artist, photographer, graphic designer and art director who works in various media on a variety of surfaces. His work ranges from pencil/charcoal drawings, watercolors, oil pastels, oil sticks, to acrylics and repurposed materials.
Len’s journey as an artist began early when he followed his big sister’s lead copying the Sunday comics, then continued in high school when he started copying album covers onto jackets and silk-screening rock band tee shirts. After studying painting, printmaking and graphic design at Pratt Institute he began an enduring career as a graphic designer, art director, and sole proprietor of Curious Mind Graphics LLC, specializing in the design of corporate communications and marketing collateral for the architectural/engineering/construction industry.
Artist’s Statement
I respond to my surroundings, feelings and emotions, applying visual memories of form and color that are found in the landscape, cityscape and personal inventory of imagery. I use various media; colored pencils, charcoal, oil, acrylic, photography, and even repurposed materials, anything that fits the moment or resultant of the tools and surfaces on hand. The work process is one of constant experiment and change; building layers of color, form and imagery onto the surface, oftentimes revealing underlying layers that redirect the work. My photography is most often a search for the inconspicuous and obscure. The work is not planned, it is discovered, forming an exciting and invigorating evolution.

Len has participated in solo, and group shows in the Manhattan Chelsea Arts district at Pleiades Gallery, in Brooklyn at the Brooklyn Waterfront Artist’s Coalition, as well as other Tri-State area galleries.
